Each service price includes both parts (materials) and labor required to build, repair, or install your window screen at your home.
For example, a standard “$50 screen” typically consists of approximately:
Sales tax is applied only to the parts (materials) portion.
Texas requires that I charge the exact sales tax rate for the location where the work is performed. Local rates vary by city, county, and special districts.
For example, if your local rate is 8.25%, the tax on $24.01 of materials is $1.98, making the total exactly $50.00.
However, some areas have lower tax rates. In those cases, the final price may be slightly less than the advertised price.
Because Texas sales tax cannot exceed 8.25%, and my advertised prices assume the maximum tax rate, you will never pay more than the listed price.
If I say a screen costs $50, it will never cost more than $50.
If your local tax rate is lower than 8.25%, the total may be a little less.
The amounts below show how each service price is divided between materials (taxable) and labor (non-taxable). Sales tax is calculated on the materials portion only, using your exact local tax rate.
