Save on Electric Bills — Use Your Windows
In Texas, electricity isn’t getting cheaper — and for most homes, air conditioning is the biggest part of the bill.
The good news is that many days (especially fall, winter, spring, and cool mornings/evenings) are comfortable enough
to use fresh air instead of running the AC nonstop.
Simple idea: When the weather is nice, open windows and let your home “breathe.”
Screens help you do that without inviting bugs, leaves, and debris inside.
How screens can help you save
- Less AC runtime: When outdoor air is comfortable, you may be able to run the AC less.
- Better comfort: Fresh air and cross-breezes can make a home feel cooler.
- More usable windows: Screens make it practical to open windows again.
Wear and tear on your AC system
Running the AC less doesn’t just help the electric bill — it can also reduce wear on major components
(like the compressor) over time. That can mean fewer hard cycles and potentially fewer repairs.
Realistic expectation: I don’t promise specific dollar savings or equipment life.
Every home, thermostat setting, and weather pattern is different — but screens give you the option to use your windows
when the conditions are right.
When it works best
- Cool mornings and evenings
- Spring and fall days when humidity is manageable
- After storms when temperatures drop
- Any time you can create a cross-breeze (windows on opposite sides of the home)

Text me a photo of your window and I’ll tell you whether it’s a standard screen and what it would cost.
Tip: When you text a photo, include whether the window slides up/down or left/right.
